Deer Park, Texas Sedation Dentistry
There are different levels of dental sedation to meet your needs. First, Dr. Nugent will examine you and complete a full exam. Dr. Nugent will go over your medical history.
Option 1: Laughing Gas (Nitrous Oxide) available in all our treatment rooms. Laughing gas makes most people feel relaxed and happy. Laughing gas is a great treatment options because once the dental proceudre is over you will be placed on 100% Oxygen to flush out the Nitrous Oxide. You will be alert and responsive. Your can drive home and return to work immediately.
Option 2: Oral Sedation is a pill that is taken one hour prior to your dental appointment. Patients having oral sedation are deeply relaxed and often have no memory of the treatment. Once the oral medication is working, Dr. Nugent will place the Nitrous Oxide on you for more relaxation. Once the dental work is completed you will have a family member or friend drive you home. You will take a long restful nap at your house.
People still find it difficult to relax when receiving any type of dental treatment, which is why we are pleased to offer a variety of sedation options. Simply mention your anxieties when you call to make an appointment at our Pasadena, Texas Dental Office. We’ll help you select the method of sedation dentistry that will make your next visit more pleasant.
Nitrous oxide is recommended for patients who require only a moderate level of dental anesthetic. During your appointment, you will breathe in a mixture of nitrous oxide and oxygen in order to remain tranquil. Unlike other forms of sedative, nitrous oxide wears off in a matter of minutes after administration ceases. That means it won’t interrupt the remainder of your day or prevent you from driving yourself home; you’ll be able to resume your normal activities immediately. Oral conscious sedation induces a deep state of relaxation in patients via a tablet. You won’t feel any distress during your appointment, and you won’t even recall what occurred afterwards. You will take the pill at our dental facility during before you appointment. You must have a friend or relative drive you home.
